Ryan Bates Ms. Byrne Honors English 9 October 15 2014 I-Search; How Cell Phones Affect Society I found the topic of how cell phones affect society very interesting and relevant to my time. Technology like cell phones are a very big aspect of life and will continue to grow. I knew very little before I researched the topic. All that I knew was the things I see day to day, but I spent a week researching how they affect our interaction and found some very interesting facts. I found a lot of new aspects of life that cell phones affect that I never thought of. Many of the facts I found as I researched I actually had seen before, I just had not paid attention to them. My topic is complex in the many ways people use their cell phones. I feel like the topic is much easier to understand when broken up into categories. I separated them into four categories: addiction, the use of cellphones, the change that has come because of them, and how interaction has been altered. These categories changed mine, and everyone else’ s, lives. I am going to begin with the common addiction everyone has to their cell phone. The amount people use their cell phones in this â€Å"Era of Technology† amazes me. Dalton represents this by stating the fact that â€Å"An average person spends 90 minutes a day, which is 24 days a year, and in an average adult life is 3 to 4 years spent on your phone† (Dalton).
